Born in 1973 in Reading Pennsylvania, Marc left the east coast for New Mexico at the age of 18. For the past 20 years he has been exploring the quite solitude the mountains and deserts the of the western states. Marc’s professional training is in the biological sciences, specifically with microscopy and imaging. Around 2010 photography became a serious goal. Living in the desert of the southwestern United States he became fascinated with the dark clear skies and the labyrinthine sandstone canyons which hold remains of vanished cultures. He now spends his time seeking out these forgotten indigenous sites to photograph them in the context of the night sky.
He has been featured in the NightVisions exhibit at the Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff Arizona and received the 2014 International Photography Awards First place award in the Night Photography Category, as well as the first place award in Salt Lake Astronomical Society Photography Contest in 2013.
