Hi, I’m a fine artist.
I was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in the nearby suburb of Hillsboro. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a BFA in Art (Painting emphasis) and a Teaching License for K-12 Art Education. After teaching art for a couple of years, I now work from home, taking care of my family and painting in my basement studio during school hours.
My artwork is based on the idea of achieving a visual balance between conflicting ideas and imagery, usually natural and man-made, but lately tending towards chaos and order. In lives full of tension, negotiation, and opposition, it’s interesting to me to see resolution occur and to realize the many different forms it can take. I work with collage, paint, and drawing to record the journey of two different ideas fitting together—a new image that is neither one nor the other, but a little bit of both.
